Design Challenge
Our goal is to enhance the current OnlineJobs.ph web app by redesigning the pages with a design that is more intuitive, modern, and less cluttered.
For this project, I chose to redesign the web application of Onlinejobs.ph. I've been using this application for the past few months since I started freelancing, and I encountered some difficulties while using it. My goal for this project was to improve the structure of the web app to provide a better user experience. Below are images for comparison.
Job Feed
What changed?
- Improved the overall page by adding shortcut icons to the navigation bar for better usability. This will help users quickly navigate important sections in the web app.
- Improved the sidebar by adding recent searches to inform users of new openings in the same field and by moving suggested articles in the sidebar for better visibility.
- Added automatic "Recommendations" in the feed based on your skills and profile, reducing the need to enter keywords manually as in the current web app.
- Included a "heart icon" to easily save jobs for future reference.
- Refined the current UI design for a cleaner and more professional-looking web app.
Job Details
What changed?
- Rearranged the elements for a cleaner and more professional-looking web app.
Profile Page
What changed?
- Rearranged and enhanced the structure of the profile page.
- Removed unnecessary content while retaining important information. This will help employers focus on essential details such as skills, portfolio, and expected salary.
Inbox Page
What changed?
- Redesigned the overall Inbox page to have a more "messenger" style, as the current design appears outdated.
- Added an "add attachment" functionality in the chat box for better usability, unlike the current app, which lacks this feature.
This personal project is still a work in progress, and there are still many pages that I want to redesign. However, due to a busy schedule, I haven't found the time to do so yet. Hopefully, when things get less busy, I will continue working on it. I hope you have enjoyed looking through these initial layouts.
